Let me back-up just a bit...during the last week of school, each grade gets to spend one day at a park just down the street from school. It's a ton of fun and they get to eat pizza and basically goof off for an entire afternoon. Well, LuLu's poor class has had some bad luck, and their park days were rained out both in Kindergarten and First Grade. So this year they finally had luck on their side and enjoyed the most beautiful, picture perfect, low humidity, just-right-hot, couple of fluffy clouds in a bright blue sky day! Here she is with her "Puppy School" t-shirt (a game they played on Friday Fun Days!) The puppies are all saying "Hello" in different languages! The boys and I spent a couple of hours with them...Big Butter's been to all of the parties and so I suppose he figured that earned him the right to be in the class picture!

Last Day of School!
Yes, I realize that this was a few weeks ago...I'm a bit behind on my blogging, but am incredibly determined to catch up over the next week or so...so watch out
The last day of school was finally here...Field Day! Last year's was held inside due to the tornado that hit just a few miles down the road! So we were all excited to have it outside this year. The day began with a talent show. I took the boys to watch it and they lasted a whole hour! LuLu's class did a cute dance...We then headed to the cafeteria where we were served pizza, chips and twinkie*s (wouldn't ya know all Baby Butter ate were the twinkie*s - LuLu took care of his pizza - she's a growing girl I tell ya!) Then came the moment we'd all been waiting for...slip n' slide, tug o' war, water-balloon volleyball...hours of fun in the sun! Well, at least until the clouds rushed in, the sky turned black, lightning flashed, thunder crashed and hundreds of shrieking kids ran inside for cover just moments before the skies opened and buckets of rain poured all over field day! It was a blast while it lasted though! Even Big Butter got to join in the fun! (although he spent most of the time playing in the water that was spraying out of the leaky hose connections!) Baby Butter was pretty hot and tired, but darn cute! The 2nd grade girls beat the boys in Tug O' War again! (LuLu's been working out at my Boot Camp!) She caught some water-balloons in the volleyball game, managed to get some water spilled on her during the pass the Bucket game and oh so much more...

Just to show you how big, Big Butter is...he's the one showing off his fabulous tan (sadly, none of my children inherited my ability to tan!) with yet one more year of preschool...his buddy next to him gets to start Kindergarten this fall! He's going to be an all-star in every sport :)

So here are her first and last day pictures...Over this past year she has learned and grown so much. She still has a perfect report card, loves writing stories, has very beautiful cursive handwriting, knows all about countries and cities all over the world, is fascinated with money, can tell time, add, subtract and has even started multiplication. She has become more independent, self-assured and just plain grown-up! I love having her home now...I really missed having her around! She's a fantastic little baby-sitter...and is realizing that little brothers (big ones and little "baby" ones!) can be a lot of fun!
LuLu will misss 2nd grade and her fabulous teacher, but is very excited for 3rd grade. Even though they have math homework every night, the 3rd graders get to use the big playground every day!

Happy-happy summa-time for you!!
May you know many a late night good t.v. and late mornin' sleep-ins!
(Cause that's what summer is.. right??)
I want to go to THAT school! That is some serious "end of school" fun. It is amazing to see how different they look in 9 short months. It just goes so fast! Happy summer! May the popsicles be extra sweet, the mornings lazy, and the days long and wonderful!
