Just One More Year...

There aren't too many things more entertaining than a bunch of preschoolers singing their hearts out while parents, friends and relatives of all sorts sit, stand and squat with cameras and camcorders desperately trying to get just the right angle so they can capture their little one's "Twinkle Twinkle Little Star!" Last night's program at Happy*Day*Preschool was no exception! Yep, that's my Big Butter all decked out in his Children*s Place argyle! I was so dang proud of him! His first week of preschool (he had just turned 3), the teacher spoke to me several times about him, well, being Dillon...the kid's got a TON of energy! But here he is after his second year there and he's such a smart cookie! Even more importantly...do you see how nice and still he's standing? (yes, I know, it's a picture, of course he's still!) He was standing just like that the whole time he was up there...with the exception of his cute little thumbs up and wink to mom after my favorite song! Such a cutie! So for those of you who were unable to attend, here's a little sample of the musical selections we were blessed to hear...
Of course we had to celebrate the last day of school with a treat at Bread Co. (and yes, that is a smile...and possibly the ugliest shirt I've ever seen but he loves it, and I really do like to see them picking out their own clothes... but sometimes this shirt is "in the washer" for a long time!)

So just one more year at Happy Day and then he'll be off to face the real world...kindergarten! And you know what? I think he's gonna be just fine!

Here are his first and last day of school pictures! Somehow it looks like he shrank a bit, but he's actually grown a couple of inches and is almost too heavy (53lbs) for me to lift over the fence to get the soccer ball that's been "accidentally" kicked into the neighbors' yards!
